The Holiday season is here, and Historic Augusta invites you to experience Christmas in 1917! Visit the Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson through the month of December, and enjoy the house decorated for the holidays with fresh evergreens and festive decorations. December tours will incorporate details about what Christmas was like in 1917, during World War I.
Christmas tours of the Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson, at the regular admission price of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and $3 for students, are offered Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month of December. The home will be closed December 24 and 25. Tours are guided by trained docents and begin on the hour from 10 am to 4 pm.
A special Candlelight Tour will take place on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, with tours offered every 30 minutes. Enjoy festive refreshments and live music as you tour the home with the lights turned down low and the candles flickering. Guides will provide stories of holidays past in Augusta and discuss how families decorated and entertained during World War I.
